Recently The Guardian group’s Sunday newspaper The Observer asked influential documentary filmmakers to select their must-see documentaries of all time.

This list of 50 documentary films includes some of the most famous and important work ever made, such as Man on Wire, Thin Blue Line, Bowling for Columbine, Blackfish and Hoop Dreams. Many of these films have had a real social and personal impact, which makes Virunga‘s inclusion in this list even more gratifying.

The Finnish national newspaper Helsingin Sanomat also picked this story up, highlighting the Finnish names on the list including my editing on Virunga.

The Guardian, The Observer, top 50, virunga
